through the war years. During World War II, scores of inductees
from the entertainment ranks gave military bands and special
services units the creme of the big band crop - from Major
Glen Miller’s famous Army Air Corp Band to the many
smaller service bands all along the war front. Working
with the USO and a host of legendary guest stars, it was
their job to help lessen the pain of war and bring a little
touch of home to thousands of military personnel stationed
at remote military bases.
 You
can now re-live some of those musical moments from an
expert re-creation of the very best of the service bands:
