Bill
Allred's Classic Jazz Band
We
started this quest in late 1989, with our primary
mission to find, research and play some of the almost
forgotten
arrangements
of the early reading jazz bands. At the time we didn't realize
what a Pandora's Box we were opening. Charts, interest
and fans came from all over. Our efforts
to try new sounds and combinations have resulted in some very unusual
treatments of old and new musical material.
Now
after 19 years and 13 recordings, we are still testing
our musical resolve. More info

Bill Allred recently completed a gig with The Titan Hot Seven band, standing in for their regular trombonist, Jim Fryer, during the Jubilee By The Sea jazz festival in Pismo Beach, California, October 23-25. The last time Bill played that festival before this was with the Fulton Street Jazz Band in 1979, when he lived in Sacramento. In late September and early October of 2010, Bill is scheduled to pinch-hit for Jim with the Titans during a 15-day jazz tour in Germany and Austria.
